Race Day Monday 5 May 2025

On Monday, 5 May 2025, Saint Bernadette Catholic School will be holding a Race for Education. Our goal is to raise $35,000 in order to continue to provide a quality education and affordable tuition.

Students from PreK to 8th grade will walk and/or jog around a 1/4 mile area as many times as possible during a one hour period. Each student will raise funds by asking sponsors to contribute a tax deductible donation to Saint Bernadette Catholic School.

STUDENT PRIZES

· Students who receive one donation from a sponsor will get a Crazy Sock & Sneaker Day.

· Students who receive multiple donations from sponsors will get the following:

• 3 donations: Crazy Hair & Hat Day

• 6 donations: the above plus an Ice Cream Treat at Lunch

• 9 donations: the above plus a Dress Down Day and an Extra 25 Minute Recess

· Each class which receives an average of three sponsor donations per student will be treated to a Pizza & Pajama Day Party.

· For every 5 sponsor donations a student receives, the student’s name will be entered into a drawing for a $25.00 “Amazon” Gift Card. One gift card will be awarded on each level: PreK – 2nd grade, 3rd – 5th grade, and 6th – 8th grade.

·For every $100 a student receives in sponsor donations, the student’s name will be entered into a drawing for an “Apple Watch” (raise $200 – your name is entered twice; raise $1000 – your name is entered 10 times).

· A First Place Ribbon will be awarded to the girl and boy in each grade who complete the most laps. Schoolwide, a Medal will be awarded to the top 3 girls and top 3 boys who complete the most laps.

A Special Treat will be given to all the students on Race Day.

· If we reach our $35,000 goal, a cooler of “Gatorade” will be dumped on the Principal and the Assistant Principal.😊

**Additionally, if we reach our challenge goal of $55,000, the entire school will enjoy an afternoon Game Day.

SHOWING YOUR SUPPORT FOR A STUDENT IS EASY

1. Type your student's name in the box below and click "Search." His or her full name will then appear alone or in a list, along with their grade.

2. Click on the "Donate Now" button beside your student's name, and make your contribution.

3. Consider helping to spread the news about the "Race for Education." Below your student's name you will see the wording: SHARE THIS STUDENT URL, and next to that will be his/her specific webpage URL. Click on the social media icons or copy & email the link to their page.

You can give any amount, of course, and those who contribute $50.00 or more will have their name and their sponsored child's name on a Special Sneaker to be displayed in the school's main hallway as a way to encourage and rally our students.

We should also tell you that students, as well as their class, can win prizes (e.g., Crazy Sock & Sneaker Day, Crazy Hair & Hat Day, Ice Cream Treat at Lunch, Dress Down Day, Extra 25 Minute Recess, Class Pizza & Pajama Day Party, $25.00 "Amazon" Gift Cards, "Apple Watch," Ribbons, Medals, Special Treats on Race Day, and more!) for the number of sponsors they recruit. Finally, contact your sponsored student to find out the time that he or she will be jogging/walking.
